I’m far from being a creative person, but I genuinely appreciate others expressing themselves through art, and I think it’s beautiful how different art can be.

Galeria Foco is a gallery with specific exhibitions throughout the year, so you really need to check their website before visiting.
In some periods when they’re preparing for the next exhibition, they’re completely closed.
As I’m writing this, they are planning an exhibition with opening hours from 6 pm to 10 pm.
They’ve transformed an old car dealership into a gallery, and it looks marvelous.
The founder and architect, Benjamin Gonthier, is focused on letting young artists shine, which is why you see diversity. It’s truly worth a visit.
2. Galeria São Mamede

Galeria São Mamede is a gallery with 3 locations whereas 2 of them are in Lisbon 30 meter separated and one in Porto.
It displays art from local and national contemporary artists, but also art from some incredible Portuguese artists like Vieira da Silva, Paula Rego and Almada, or Nadir Afonso.
It’s located in Principe Real, one of my favorite areas, so if you’re in the area, pop by and explore the magnificent art.
3. Galeria Vera Cortês

This is a gallery located in a warehouse close to Alvalade by the famous artist Vera Cortes.
She hosts art from close to 20 artists over a period, and what I really like about this gallery is how minimalistic it is, which really highlights the art.
Here, you can see anything from street art to sculptures and much more. You get a wide variety of art.
4. Galeria Bessa Pereira

Underdogs is so much more than just a gallery, it’s public art as well with more than 80 artists connected to it.
One of my favorites is the artist Add Fuel, the way he works with the famous Portuguese tiles is mesmerizing. It’s incredible.

6. Brisa Galeria

Brisa Galeria hosts around 9 artists at a time, and it’s a super minimalistic gallery with focus on the beautiful art.
It’s located in the Chiado area and is close to everything, so you’ll most likely be close to it during your stay in Lisbon.
